32 NEWPORT STREET, RENTER COMMENTS from our beginning in 2000, through summer of 2003. We have recently added a new guest comment feature, managed by an independent third party, that includes a report card and ranking system. Guests are invited to state how the home could be improved and to rate the house. The service DOES NOT allow us to edit anyone's remarks. If you have ever seen this service on other properties, and they have the calendar, but not the guestbook, or there are guest ratings with no remarks posted, then the owner has controlled that (since the posting of comments is an "all" or "nothing" option. It is our intention to continuously improve and update our home, using our guests' helpful feedback to do just that. Since January 2000, we have had renters from 20 states- California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Iowa, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and West Virginia....

Nov 2003 We really enjoyed our stay. We have never stayed in a canal home, but now find we prefer it (had been staying in Summer Place, at Ocean Isle, in the past). Nov 2003- Two weeks and glorious weather in Nov. We had high expectation for our holiday and we were not disappointed. Beautiful surroundings and a lovely home with many thoughtful extras. Sept. 2003 Thank-you. Weather was terrible due to aftermath of Hurricane Fabian. On our 1 sunny afternoon, the kayak was especially appreciated, as well as the book and music libraries. We hope to gather every year, and hope it will be here. Hadley, Durham, NC

August 2003 Thanks for another great year at Ocean Isle. While the ocean everywhere else on the east cost was freezing, here it was over 80. We spent hours in the water everyday. July 2003- We enjoyed your home very much and appreciate you sharing it with us.... We enjoyed your selection of books and videos very much. I read "The Legend of Bagger Vance" and thought it was quite good. We even watched "The Sound of Music."... We would have liked to bike more, but the pump wasn't easily located (we will be adding a pump to the house.. we had one but it disappeared). We enjoyed the swing out back and the rocking chairs out front very much. We will look forward to visiting again in the off season. Thank you again for making everything so smooth for us.

July 2002- Thanks so much for allowing us to rent your beach home. You have a great place and so well equipped. Our family reunion was a great success. Everyone had a great time and we all were allowed to have our space (this large group rented several houses near one another, that we helped arrange). I hope you did not find any problems because I made extra sure to take care of everything..... The bicycles were really good bikes and we enjoyed them too. Aug 2001- This place was soooo cool. I just loved the movie collection and this was my first time living on a canal house. Aug 2001-I received the deposit refund in the mail on Friday. THANKS! My family and I had a wonderful week in Ocean Isle. The beach was our main source of entertainment, but when we were not at the beach we greatly enjoyed your house. The many extras that you have included are a real plus. We especially enjoyed the raft, tube, and canoe in the canals. The videos and books provided quiet time entertainment for the kids. The kitchen is very well equipped and we prepared and ate a lot of food during the week. We also liked your attitude with supplies--if it is here, use and replace. July 2001 - what a great layout for our two families! Plenty of space to be together or to find some quiet time. It was kind of like staying at a friend's house--very comforting and not at all "hotel-like". This was our first visit to Ocean Isle, but probably not our last!. Thanks for being such good hosts. July 2001- 32 Newport was basically wonderful! The rooms were lovely and easy care.
Everything worked well... including the computer. The canoe was wonderful, as was the raft. They really made a difference for the kids, and us... although, I heard that my sister and husband ventured too close to the choppy water before turning round and almost lost their balance... lessons learned. :) We also had a wonderful (expensive) dinner at the Sugar Shack on Thursday night with friends. I left some menus there for your future visitors. We received the (security deposit) check last week... thank you. Thanks again. We enjoyed renting the canoe, rode through several of the canals and enjoyed the view from the water. The beach was excellent, definitely a family beach. June 2001...Our stay was wonderful-enjoyed the island and your home...the Canoe we used often, had great fun with it...We used the computer for e-mail...Let people renting know they collect garbage 3 times a week...We'll be back and I'll recommend it to my friends-probably in 2003. May 2001... we had a great week. The house was very nice and worked well for us. We enjoyed the children's videos and Trivial Pursuit...the computer was used by our daughter and son-in-law. Nice touch. We will definitely consider contacting you again. The only suggestion I might make for the house would be the addition of dish drain at the kitchen (we bought one the following week and it is now in the kitchen) sink. May 2001...Everything was wonderful. The house is beautiful & the location is great. Once my husband saw the golf sign in the living room, he was home! I did use the computer to check my e-mail. I wouldn't normally do that on vacation, but due to the drizzly weather, we were inside more than we wanted. Other than the weather, we had a great time. I am hoping to come again sometime!
